About Dr. Rebekah OldenKamp ND
I enjoy working with patients who feel they haven’t been given much hope from the traditional medical community and working with them to help improve their quality of life.
I particularly enjoy the detective work behind autoimmune and chronic disease.
These patients are often not given much hope or options from the traditional medical community, and frequently there are options. Diet and lifestyle are my main treatments, these require a significant amount of education which is a priority for me.
Note: Did you know that ‘doctor’ comes from the latin, ‘docere’
which means teacher, this is one of my favorite parts of my job!
What Drew Me to Naturopathy
I am Dr. Rebekah OldenKamp (commonly known as Dr. Beka or Dr. O). I am a native to Washington State and have a passion for helping people achieve their optimum health, especially those who live with chronic illness. I enjoy empowering patients through helping them understand their health and treatment options.
After college, I moved back to Washington State and took my mentor advise job shadowing a couple naturopathic doctors, I loved what they got to do. The types of relationships that they had with their patients, it was not a revolving door – it was personal and caring. Patients were given hope and empowered in their own journeys through individualized health education. Treatments were often outside the box and not one-size-fits all. People were seen an individuals.
The next year I attended medical school at Bastyr University here in Kenmore WA. I graduated in 2013 and launched Legacy Natural Medicine in 2014. I choose the name “Legacy” because I believe we leave a legacy with our lives. Our lives touch many. If I can help someone understand an aspect of their health, they can apply that knowledge not only in their own health but can also educate and be an advocate for others as well.
I desire to help the many people who have not been given much hope by the traditional medical model.
I commonly see patients for thyroid disease, hormonal imbalance, mold related illness, migraine, allergies, diabetes, chronic viral infections, gastrointestinal complaints, chronic fatigue, and environmental illness but also see patients for general health & wellbeing.
I have two major goals when working with patients:
1) that you understand your treatment plan: what we are treating and why.
2) that you want to do your treatment plan. If we can achieve these goals patients have a greater chance of success.
My journey to Naturopathic Medicine began in my undergraduate studies at Greenville College (now university) in Illinois. My mentor strongly encouraged me into medicine, specifically natural medicine. My interest in natural medicine peaked while studying with a physical therapist who taught me the philosophy that:
..the body has an innate ability to heal itself if you can remove the obstacles to cure. I was intrigued by this idea and later learned it is a cornerstone to natural medicine.

I have worked with Dr. Beka professionally for some time now and find her to be thoughtful, thorough and compassionate toward my referred clients. She has a caring bedside manner and takes the time to fully understand all the patients health concerns and goals. My clients have accelerated health from seeing Dr. Beka.—
